BERÄTTELSER FRÅN MALMÖ (SOUNDS OF EXILE) 2015
Music documentary, 55 min
A music documentary with performances by some of Malmö’s and Sweden’s premier artists in World Music. Nadin Al-Khalidi and her band Tarabband, José Pereelanga band and Jafar Hasan Aboud with World Mix Orchestra and Mazguf Ensemble.
The film is a personal portrait of these artists, which focuses on how they feel about being an immigrant. What have they brought from their home countries and what kind of life have they built here in Sweden?
”Sounds of Exile” is also an image of Malmö as a city where different cultures can actually meet. We are hoping that this film will be a positive image of our Malmö which, world wide, has been associated with criminality and problems (falselly) connected to migration.

The international festival premiere was held in competition at Tempo International Film festival, Stockholm, in march 2016.
